Thunder Shiken (Thunder Wheel)
In 2008 after seeing the device I had created for the sylversail armada, several members of Thunder challenged me to make their device, the shiken (or thunder wheel), which is a circle of lightingbolts with eight points inside and outside, out of chainmail. I accepted the challenge, and in November of 2008 I created my prototype shiken out of copper for display at Southern Crusades (SCA) in Arizona. The members of house thunder were very pleased with my results and have commissioned a very special version for the Dread Lord and Dread Lady, heads of Dreaded Thunder in Arizona. I will have several Shikens available for sale at Estrella War, and will also be taking orders for custom commissions. (only available to members of house thunder)

Brass and Copper Shiken

Dread Lord & Lady Shikens
We have been asked to take up a collection for creating a special shiken for the Dread Lord and Dread Lady of Thunder. These shikens will be constructed using Sterling Silver, Copper and Jeweler's Brass, to make a spectacular, unique Shiken. These Shikens will cost approximately $185 each, based on the current design plans (the price may change if the design is revised). We collected $42 toward this goal at Southern Crusades. These Shikens will be completed and ready to be presented at Estrella War 2009, and they will be pictured here once they are complete. We would like to present the Dead Lord and Lady with their Shikens at Estrella War, the earlier they are paid for, the sooner we can make that presentation. As we are new members of Thunder we would like some advice as to the appropriate time and way to present these to the Dread Lord and Lady... perhaps a special thunder circle/ceremony.
