Art Thou Glorious is run by artists Chad and Audrey Stephens. All the jewelry you see throughout the site is created by us, we don't have any employees and all our work is hand crafted. We specialize in Copper Bracelets because they have been so popular, but also create a great deal of Sterling Silver Jewelry and we also work in some brass mainly for accents. All of our Jewelry is designed by us using over 40 different chainmail weaves. We enjoy creating new designs and many of our pieces are completely unique.
We are both medieval enthusiasts and we travel the country selling our jewelry at various medieval events and craft show. We are active members of the SCA which is where we met.
Chad started making chainmail about 9 years ago after seeing an inspirational head dress at an SCA event. For many years chainmail was just a passionate hobby, he studied as many weaves as were available on the internet, which at the time totaled about 12. Chad learned all of these and created a wide selection of necklaces, belts, and headdresses and a few bracelets. Chainmail remained a hobby until about 2 years ago when we decided to have a go of selling jewelry full-time. Since that time Chad has learned about 30 more weaves and his hobby has turned into a passion. Our jewelry has progressed to an art form and we are constantly working to push the medium even further.
Shortly after jewelry became a fulltime gig for us I started to have issue with repetitive stress in my hands (carpal tunnel type symptoms) - and after numerous testimonials from clients I decided to start wearing one of our copper bracelets to help. I was surprised to find that it really helped with the irritation, and I now wear a copper bracelet constantly. Discovering the healing power of copper I have become a true believer, and we have expanded out copper line of jewelry extensively because of the personal success and the huge volume of testimonials we have received from clients.
Audrey started making jewelry about 2 years ago, shortly after we started traveling. Her passion is in larger pieces and she has designed a great selection of Necklaces, belts, and anklets that we will soon be adding to the site. All of these pieces are great for belly dancing, and after the Tucson Gem and Mineral show (February 2006) when we stock up on supplies we'll be adding her belled pieces.
